Whether you’re planning a wedding, a birthday, a baby shower, or a corporate celebration, our team, led by Chef Jessica Isaacs, designs and bakes each cake to your vision. Everything from the flavor to the final decoration is as important to us as it is to you and your special day.
We work in small batches using only high-quality ingredients. Our cakes are buttercream-finished and built around flavor first. We believe a great cake is both beautiful and scrumptions so you won't find fondant in our kitchen. Gluten-free options are available for most designs.
Based in Jersey City Heights, we serve the greater Hudson County area and welcome orders from across New Jersey.

How To Order A Custom Cake
Get in touch — Fill out our inquiry form so we can review all the details. Tell us the occasion, your preferred date, approximate guest count, and any design ideas or dietary requirements.
We’ll follow up — Our team will confirm availability and discuss your options. For wedding cakes, we offer a tasting appointment (2+ weeks’ notice required).
Place your order — A deposit may be required for large or custom orders. All orders placed through the website require 72 hours’ notice. For weddings and large events, contact us directly.
Pick up or arrange delivery — We offer in-store pickup at 475 Central Avenue. For large custom orders, we offer delivery within Jersey City.
Cocoa Bakery is All About Buttercream
We don’t make fondant cakes. All our cakes are buttercream-finished — which we think looks and tastes much better. If you’ve been quoted fondant elsewhere and want to explore an alternative, we’d love to show you what’s possible with buttercream.
We Accommodate Dietary Needs
Some of our custom cakes can be made gluten-free, nut-free, or eggless. We are working on vegan and dairy free cake options as well. Please let us know your requirements when you inquire — we’ll confirm what’s possible for your specific order.

We need at least 72 hours' notice to accommodate custom cake orders. For weddings with a cake tasting, please allow at least 2 weeks.
